Originals: How Non-Conformists Move the World, By Adam Grant is the latest addition to my book collection. I just started reading but already know that I would recommend it.
Grant writes: “…Ultimately, the people who choose to champion originality are the ones who propel us forward. After spending years studying them and interacting with them, I am struck that their inner experiences are not any different from our own. they feel the same fear, the same doubt as the rest of us. What sets them apart is that they take action anyway. They know in their hearts that failing would yield less regret than failing to try.”
This summed up what I have thought for a long time. Don’t think you can’t do something because you are afraid. Fear is a healthy human emotion that we all feel from time to time.
Redefine it and use it to your advantage.
Let fear and doubt drive you to come up with a well thought out plan. You will be amazed how quickly the fear turns into excitement once you are committed to a plan and take action.
